Dudes, its a challenge to write in German, i wish i had payed more attention in the literature classes in school.... i didnt, it was actually quite boring at that time. But its really hard to
keep it all bilingual, we are giving our best though, and we try to also include fringe groups in our site;-) Today there is time to spend some time working on the site, because, stranded in
El Calafate, we are waiting for a bus to take us to Bariloche. If we are lucky, we can catch one at 3 in the night, if not, we have to wait longer. Anyway, we are in a really nice
hostel, cool people here and we rushed around quite a lot until now, so its ok to take it a bit slower now. Arriving in El Calafate was actually a nightmare. Its a town, that only
exists because of the nearby Glacier Perrito Moreno and so travellers try to come here for one day to see it and leave again. That was our plan too, but then there was no money in the Cash machines
in town and our cards didnt work. Its not the first time, this happened to us, so our backup with Euros was already used up. So here we are, no money to pay the hostel we slept at, no
money for the bus to the glaciar, no money for the bus to another place.... it finally worked out pretty fine then. After trying to hitchhike to the glaciar, my best man martin talked to
german people in the supermarket to take us to the glaciar in their rental car, and when coming back, the cash machines were working again and we could pay all our debts and start making plans for
the bus trip to the next destination. The glaciar is really quite impressing, its the only glaciar in the world still growing and its huge. Reaching down to Lago Argentino its advancing
two meters every day. At the same time those two meters break off the edge every day, which make it spectacular to watch from the nearby lookout points. We saw a 50 meter high wall
breaking and falling down into the water... cool stuff!
Unfortunately we forgot the camera this time, so no pictures )-:
Its three in the morning now, four oclock is our bus. We finally found one, bad thing is, its gonna take three times changing the bus and 36 hours!!! to go to Bariloche...
